You don't want this to happen to your lecturer do you? Thanks to Dave Muckey for the image

'Do you always read the feedback provided on an assessment, or do you sometimes look to the grade and skip the rest?

Do you look back on previous feedback before approaching your next assessment?

Do you sometimes not understand all the comments made?

Learnmore Talking Essays are a collection of real essays written by City students (2011-2013) to illustrate what lecturers look for when assessing your written work. They provide a mixture of written and audio comments - the audio often serving to give more detail to the written ones - giving you more idea how to interpret any unfamiliar annotations.

The comments are designed to help you with your legal writing skills and give you the support to understand the feedback provided by your lecturers.

Remember this guide is to help not scare you - we really hope these will help you to distinguish what makes a great essay from an ok one.

The comments included are pretty exhaustive; you would never receive this many comments on one essay as your lecturer would probably explode.
